oh my goodness, i'm a horrible person! they should come and arrest me and stick me in a pillory with a big sign that says 'thief.' i stole a book from the library. i didn't mean to, though, i swear!
k, so i was checking online to see if i have any items on hold, and there it said, 'love in the time of cholera.' but i already have that out of the library. i was confused, but thought that maybe i had hit request twice. i then checked to see what items i have out of the library. yeah, no 'love in the time of cholera.' so i grabbed the book to check the due date slip. yeah, it's not a due date slip. it's a hold slip. somehow, i managed to get the book out of the library without checking it out. apparently, i'm so sneaky even i didn't know it.
now i have to go unsteal the book. i'm scared to death that the doors are going to beep upon my arrival and everyone's going to look at me, and everyone's going to know. and the crabby librarian will be there. and he'll be mean. i'm tempted to just drop it into the book return outside and call it good, but i'm 80 pages in so i don't really want to return it. so i have to go in with it and check it out. i'm such a dork.
i think in the future i'll just not steal books.

Oh, I just had a thought - how ironic would it have been if, instead of stealing the cholera book, you had stolen "The Book Thief"?
Now that would have been a great story!

Librarians should never be crabby. They have the best job in the whole world. And they get paid to do it!
