my poor nieces have heard this who knows how many times from celeste. she can only do so many things at once. well, i would like to take a moment to tell the people at work that this runs in the family. i am not an octopus either.we have 4 people working in the kitchen every day. right now, 2 are on vacation, but we have a weekend girl who is able to work through breakfast a couple days, and one girl who works at night has picked up a couple days. we thought we'd be more or less fine through thursday, only being screwed on friday, when it would be down to me and the one other full-time person.
yeah, we thought that until this morning, at which point we got a phone call from the other full-time person saying that she fell yesterday and jacked up her knee and will be out of work for at least a week. this leaves me scheduled for friday. me.
apparently i'm going to cook, set tables, serve, clean up the dining room, do dishes, bake, prep for the next day, and clean up the kitchen. this should be interesting.

You should get paid quadruple time if you're expected to do the work of four people.
I'd make it continental breakfast day - cereal and store-bought donuts.
oh yeah, and i just remembered that it's the day we get our grocery delivery. so i get to stock the shelves, too.
oh yeah, and i found out today that we're short staffed this weekend, too
oh yeah, and on friday we're celebrating hawaii's statehood with a special meal and whatnot
You're a renaissance woman and miracle worker! :)
That's really funny that you celebrate Hawaii's statehood. :) (Do you celebrate every state's statehood?)
