I just remembered my hair story

So Friday evening I stopped at work for something. My boss was still there. "Wow! Your hair is getting really long."
"I got 2 inches chopped off this afternoon."
"And I really like the color!"
"I'm dying it tomorrow."
"Oh. Well, I like this. It's lighter than the last time I saw it."
"I'm actually going darker."
"Oh, well, your hair looks really nice."
"Thanks." And I smiled.
In all fairness she's used to seeing me with my hair up, and she did today compliment me on my hair color. I just found her humorous.
