i forgot to post this before, but it's good

[i meant to post this back when it was the actual devotional of the day, but didn't have time, and then prodeeded to forget. it's talking about mary and her response when the angel tells her she will bear Jesus.]

"In an attitude of humble submission she says, “Yes, Lord. I’m yours. Do what you want with my life.” Not begrudgingly. Not unwillingly. Not fearfully. But with a heart that recognizes the right of her Sovereign to decide the course of her life, she lovingly embraces His call, honored that He would choose her. She proclaims the grace of God as she contemplates what this will mean." - Bev Sparling, Baseball Chapel Women's Devotional

and the prayer Bev wrote out:
"Lord God, as you guide me into your will, please empower me through your Spirit to respond as Mary did – in loving submission, honored to be chosen to stand for you in obedience. Help me to recognize the grace you extend to me, not only in my salvation, but also in my life – blessed to be called your child."

It's beautiful that she had the faith to say "Okay, whatever You want." We so often respond with "But what if...?" When am I going to learn that God has complete control over the what-ifs?

i don't know, but when you do, want to give me a 12-step plan on how to follow that?

So true, Celeste -- I guess that's why He chose her! ;)

"Not begrudgingly. Not unwillingly. Not fearfully. But with a heart that recognizes the right of her Sovereign to decide the course of her life, she lovingly embraces His call, honored that He would choose her..." -- I think I often have that reversed in my own life (i.e., "Not with a heart that recognizes the right of [my] Sovereign to decide the course of [my] life, but fearfully.." Oops.

It really is an honor to get to participate in something so big and so noble! Why wouldn't I want to, especially when I know the ultimate outcome??

But whatever He chooses us for, whether it's a call like Mary's or to be kind to our cranky neighbor, it's an honor to be a part of His plan

aren't you just the deleting queen?

Sorry. I wouldn't have to delete things if I wasn't stupid.
But it makes you look like you have more comments, so that's a good thing.
