'holy crap' probably isn't the best thing to say

it doesn't sound very respectful. i should probably come up with a less sacrilegious thing to say to express my feelings. maybe i should hearken back to the 50s and say 'gee whiz.'

:D You should also say 'hearken.' ;)

You could always try "oh, heavens!"

I just tried to be your fan and the computer wouldn't let me. Oh, heavens!

gee whiz, what's that about?

and celeste - i can't say that, that's your phrase! (although i find myself saying it more and more. but then, when i catch myself doing it, i smile and say 'oh heaven's, sir, please!')

it's very confusing of you two to have similar-looking names

What's this 'Oh heavens, sir, please!" comment from?

it's from when celeste and i were in chicago and some guy walked into the street without looking and she was scared she'd hit him, even though she was nowhere near him and driving slowly

"golly gee willikers" has always been a personal favorite

Somehow I don't see "golly gee willikers" really conveying what she meant to though (no offense;). I think a simple "Wow!" would also work, even if it is less old-fashioned and therefore less fun. ;)

that is a good one, linda. and linda - hi! :)
and wow is far from fun.

:P yes, but for what you were trying to say, it makes more sense then 'golly gee willikers' :P

He wasn't "nowhere near" us. He walked out right in front of us, and had I slammed on the brakes, we would have been rear-ended.
